About Electronic Signatures
A signature image is handy for signing PDFs, filling out forms, and personalizing documents and emails. The transparent PNG option is the most useful for placing a signature on top of a document, because only the ink is visible - there is no white box around it.
The drawing pad uses pointer events, so it works equally well with a mouse, a touchscreen, or a stylus. Strokes are smoothed with quadratic curves through the midpoints of your movements, which removes the jagged corners you would get from connecting raw points with straight lines.
Everything runs locally in your browser: the signature is drawn on a canvas element and exported directly to a file on your device. Nothing is uploaded or stored anywhere.
